A good coating of sunscreen ensures that we don't get sunburned. |
| The Munchkin waiting to go. Once we all had a very good coating of sunscreen on, we raised the main sail, slipped the lines and sailed out onto the lake! A nice note for today is that when we came back in, we furled the jib and Cathy steered us back into our slip. We did not use the engine at all today! | ![]() |

Learning to steer the boat. Kids are a lot like horses, which ever way they are looking is the way they are going to go! |

Sailing on the lake, 19 July.
The wind was out of the SW at 8-10 mph with gust, temp was in the low
90's. The water was a little rough and we actually had a few white caps
in the afternoon. A great day to sail!

Heading back in to the marina. We had sailed to the northern end of the lake and then sailed back to the marina. We added another word to our sailing vocabulary "BEAT" which means "Sailing to windward by means of a Series of tacks." We came to the conclusion that it was named appropriately! |
| The wind had picked up later in the day and the water got a little rough, so except for a few other boats we had the lake to our self. As we were headed in, we were treated to this spectacular sunset! |
