Dear Selby Anderson,
I am writing because I work with students from around the world who come to our country to learn more about our culture, our language and our family life. We work with students from 40 different nations and we rely on host families to volunteer to help these students during their time in America . I am specifically writing to you regarding three students available for placement in Texas (for the upcoming school year, arriving in August), who all share a huge interest in chess.
Host families can be single or married with young children, no children, grown children or teenagers. Anyone with a heart to love a student during their months in America can be an excellent host home. Students provide their own spending money and are covered 100% by insurance. Host families offer a bed (the student can share a bedroom with a same sex sibling within 5 years age range) and meals (the students provide their own money for school lunch if they do not want to pack a lunch from home). In our quest for cultural understanding, it is our focus to find quality families in this community who are willing to share their hearts and their homes. Here are short Biographies of the students:
Nam Ahn, a boy from Vietnam , is 16 years old. He plays on a basketball team. He also enjoys chess, internet research, games, and outdoor activities. To learn more about Nam Ahn, view his profile at: http://www.cci-exchange.com/aypdatabase/BioDetailRecord.asp?ps=9iq8ax
Matuesz, a boy from Poland , is 17 years old. He enjoys chess, tae kwon do, computer and internet, and spending time with friends. To learn more about Matuesz, view his profile at: http://www.cci-exchange.com/aypdatabase/BioDetailRecord.asp?ps=9iq8cx
Fikret, a boy from Turkey , is 17 years old. He enjoys chess, basketball, playing guitar and soccer. To learn more about Fikret, view his profile at: http://www.cci-exchange.com/aypdatabase/BioDetailRecord.asp?ps=9iq9bs
These students, and many others, have applied to come to America next August. We are working now to secure host families for each of these and can provide a full biography on any student of interest. We work to find each volunteer family the student that matches their lifestyle and interests and, of course, the family chooses the student who lives with them. I would love to answer any questions you have about the program or about any individual students. I can be reached at the number below at your convenience, day or evening.
Thank you for your time and your interest in students around the world!
Sincerely,
Stacey Friesenhahn
