Valentine Boase came to Baltimore with his wife Margaret Stark in about 1850. From there the family move to Ohio in about 1860.
Before coming to the US, Valentine and Margaret had been living in the Hague, Holland. However, they were both born in Germany.
It is believed that Valentine and Caroline are buried in the St. Bridget cemetary in Xenia, Ohio. Unfortunately, most of the cemetary records were
destroyed by fire and the tornado that hit Xenia in 1970. One of Valentine's granddaughters, who has since died, stated that she had a hard time in
grade school because she spoke broken English. It seems that everyone called Valentine "Dutch".
