I have tested the majority of these tips on my own machines.  I have annotated  those I have not tried and the only reason I haven’t  is because I haven’t had the error condition or system configuration that would allow me to test them.

Many of my tips involve editing the registry.  There can be many differences in registries due to IE5 (or higher) being updated on W98 systems and the differences caused by different configurations.  If something doesn’t look right, do not make any changes.   If you don’t know much about the registry, before attempting these hacks, read the info provided here.  If you try these hacks, you do so at your own risk.
