All .reg files I distribute are tested on my computers; however, it is a good idea to back up the registry before making changes to it.  If you need information on how to do this, click here.  There can be many differences in registries due to IE5 (and higher) being updated on W98 systems and the differences caused by different configurations.  If something doesn’t look right, do not make any changes.  Once you download a .reg file, unzip it.  To see what is in the file, right click it and select edit.  To merge the data into your registry, right click it and select merge.   If you try these .reg files, you do so at your own risk.  Click the title link below to download a file.

Change Name.  Change registered owner’s name and organization--requires user input.

Copy Floppy Disk.  Repairs missing copy floppy disk entry on context menu.

Icon Display Repair.  Fixes problem when default icon (MS Flag) wrongly displays.

IE5 Start Menu.  Makes a cascading start menu instead of scrolling arrows--IE5 only.

Increase Icon Cache Size.  Fixes problems of icons randomly changing.

Link Association (Shortcut) Repair.   When shortcuts quit working, this repairs them.

Recycle Bin Icons.  Resets the default icons for the Recycle Bin.

Recycle Bin Repair.  Resets the default settings for the Recycle Bin--custom icons and Norton Bin protection will be lost. 

Repair .Exe Association.  Sets the default association for .exe files.

Repair .Inf Install.  Repairs missing Install entry on right-click context menu.

Repair New Entry.  Repairs missing New entry on right-click context menu.

Send To Fix.  Repairs Send To Desktop Powertoy when it breaks being used with Win98.

Thumbnail Fix.  Restores default settings so thumbnail images appear for photo file types.

*Win9X Drag Drop.  Repairs registry to restore drag and drop function in Win9X.
